Delle. 520 This edited volume aims at exploring a most relevant but somewhat neglected subject in archaeological studies, especially within Latin America: maroons and runaway settlements. Scholarship on runaways is well established and prolific in ethnology, anthropology and history, but it is still in its infancy in archaeology. A small body of archaeological literature on maroons exists for other regions, but no single volume discusses the subject in depth, including diverse eras and geographical areas within Latin American contexts. Thus, a central aim of the volume is to gather together some of the most active, Latin American maroon archaeologists in a single volume. This volume will thus become an important reference book on the subject and will also foster further archaeology research on maroon settlements. The introduction and comments by senior scholars provide a wide-ranging and comprehensive analysis of runaway archaeology that will help to indicate the global importance of this research. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title page (Ebsco, viewed November 13, 2014). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Archaeology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85006507|zLatin America.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh85074879-781 650 0 Archaeology and history|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85006513|zLatin America.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85074879-781 650 0 Slavery|zLatin America|xHistory.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2010113219 650 7 Archaeology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/812938 650 7 Archaeology and history.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/813004 650 7 Slavery.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1120426 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Anthropology.|2bicssc 650 7 Cultural studies.|2bicssc 650 7 Archaeology.|2bicssc 650 7 HISTORY|zLatin America|xGeneral.|2bisacsh 650 7 HISTORY|zLatin America|zSouth America.|2bisacsh 651 7 Latin America.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1245945 653 00 archeologie 653 00 archaeology 653 00 antropologie 653 00 anthropology 653 00 cultureel erfgoed 653 00 cultural heritage 653 00 sociale wetenschappen 653 00 social sciences 653 10 Social Sciences (General) 653 10 Sociale wetenschappen (algemeen) 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 700 1 Funari, Pedro Paulo A.,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n93100096|eeditor. 700 1 Orser, Charles E.,|cJr.,|d1950-|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n87819656|eeditor. 776 08 |iPrinted edition:|z9781493912636 830 0 SpringerBriefs in archaeology.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no2012035973 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=898785|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
