Yoruba and Vedantic analyses of mind are shown to have startling resonance with each other, with Paulo Freire's critical consciousness, and Ronald Barnett's student being. Placing these sources in theoretical dialogue with each other the author proposes "critical autobiographic reflection" as a tool for locating cultural, political and ontological self; she suggests that a more resilient original voice emerges from awareness of society and community than from individualism, and that genuine pedagogic exchange changes student, tutor, and the work of both. 588 0 Print version record and CIP data provided by publisher; resource not viewed. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Education|xPhilosophy.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85041014 650 0 Art|xStudy and teaching|zGreat Britain.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009115686 650 0 Art schools|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85008081|zGreat Britain.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79023147-781 650 0 Philosophy, Yoruba.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85100994 650 0 Vedanta.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85142463 650 0 Self (Philosophy)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh85119709 650 0 Mutualism.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85089152 650 7 Education|xPhilosophy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /902721 650 7 Art|xStudy and teaching.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/815338 650 7 Art schools.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/815801 650 7 Philosophy, Yoruba.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1061149 650 7 Vedanta.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1164683 650 7 Self (Philosophy)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1111454 650 7 Mutualism.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1031224 651 7 Great Britain.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204623 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aThapalyal, Ranjana.|tEducation as mutual translation.|dLeiden ; Boston : Brill Sense, [2018] |z9789004367258|w(DLC) 2018020573 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2091820|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
