The tablets, many of which have not been edited or translated, were excavated at the capital, Assur, and in the provinces, and they give vivid details to illuminate issues such as offerings to the national shrine, the economy and political role of elite households, palace etiquette, and state-run agriculture. This book concentrates particularly on how the Assyrian use of written documentation affected the nature and ethos of government, and compares this to contemporary practices in other palatial administrations at Nuzi, Alalah, Ugarit, and in Greece. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Akkadian language|vTexts.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2007100963 650 0 Cuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85034804 650 0 Bureaucracy|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85018047|zAssyria.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n82092936-781 650 0 Scribes|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh87005292|zAssyria.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n82092936-781 650 7 Akkadian language|xTexts.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/803992 650 7 Cuneiform inscriptions, Akkadian.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/885196 650 7 Bureaucracy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/841702 650 7 Scribes.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1109393 651 0 Assyria|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n82092936 |xPolitics and government.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh2002011436 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Texts.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423705 776 08 |iPrint version:|aPostgate, J.N.|tBronze Age bureaucracy |z9781107043756|w(DLC) 2013020239|w(OCoLC)847529262 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=644601|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
