Indeed, it was often through the political sermon--the "pulpit of the American Revolution"- -That the political rhetoric of the period was formed, refined, and transmitted. And yet the centrality of religious concerns in the lives of eighteenth-century Americans is largely neglected. This has created a blind spot regarding the fundamental acts of the American founding. Political sermons such as the fifty-five collected in this volume are unique to America, both in kind and in significance. This volume thus fills an important need if the American founding period is to be adequately understood. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Christianity and politics|zUnited States|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008117672|vSermons. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012024 650 0 Sermons, American.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85120263 650 7 Christianity and politics.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/859736 650 7 Politics and government.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1919741 650 7 Sermons, American.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1113225 651 0 United States|xPolitics and government|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/subjects/sh85140410|vSermons.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012024 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Sermons.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423904 655 7 Sermons.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms /gf2015026051 700 1 Sandoz, Ellis,|d1931-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n50026685 776 08 |iPrint version:|tPolitical sermons of the American founding era, 1730-1805.|b2nd ed.|dIndianapolis, IN : Liberty Fund, ©1998|z0865971811|w(DLC) 97040986 |w(OCoLC)37792509 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=520678|zOnline eBook.
