To accomplish this objective, the CBDP must maintain robust science and technology capabilities to support the research, development, testing, and evaluation required for the creation and validation of the products the program supplies. The threat from chemical and biological attack evolves due to the changing nature of conflict and rapid advances in science and technology (S & T), so the core S & T capabilities that must be maintained by the CBDP must also continue to evolve. In order to address the challenges facing the DoD, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Chemical and Biological Defense (CBD) asked the National Research Council (NRC) to conduct a study to identify the core capabilities in S & T that must be supported by the program. The NRC Committee on Determining Core Capabilities in Chemical and Biological Defense Research and Development examined the capabilities necessary for the chemical and biological defense S & T program in the context of the threat and of the program's stated mission and priorities. Determining Core Capabilities in Chemical and Biological Defense Science and Technology contains the committee's findings and recommendations. It is intended to assist the DASD CBD in determining the best strategy for acquiring, developing, and/or maintaining the needed capabilities."--Publisher's description. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 610 20 Chemical and Biological Defense Program (U.S.)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2005011561 610 27 Chemical and Biological Defense Program (U.S.)|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1604548 650 0 Chemical weapons|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh88007509|xDefense measures|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005480|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Biological weapons|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh88007496|xDefense measures|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005480|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Chemical arms control|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh90001357|xDefense measures|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005480|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Biological arms control|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh90004231|xDefense measures|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005480|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Terrorism|zUnited States|xPrevention.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008112795 650 7 Chemical weapons.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 853245 650 7 Biological weapons.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 832367 650 7 Chemical arms control.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /852850 650 7 Biological arms control.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/832191 650 7 Terrorism.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1148101 650 12 Biological Warfare Agents.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D054045 650 12 Civil Defense.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D002959 651 2 United States.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D014481 650 22 Bioterrorism.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D023482 650 22 Chemical Terrorism.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D051337 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aNational Research Council (U.S.).
