Yet every atlas is conceived and shaped, put into meaningful order and made uniform in some way by its author, editor, or publisher. Editing Early and Historical Atlases was the title and focus of the twenty-ninth annual Conference on Editorial Problems, organized in honour of the completion of the final volume of the Historical Atlas of Canada. 520 8 The essays in this collection focus on two areas of inquiry: original editing problems associated with various atlases, from the earliest to the most recent, including the products of early author-publisher partnerships as well as modern multi-disciplinary editorial and cartographic teams; and the analysis of a variety of different atlases, to give a diverse picture of an important reference work as it has evolved through the ages. The papers throw light on the nature and history of the evolution of the atlas as a book, and also on the atlas as a 'text' of contemporary times. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Atlases|xEditing|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2019002540|vCongresses.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99001533 650 7 Atlases|xEditing.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 2007308 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2lcgft|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026068 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423772 700 1 Winearls, Joan.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n84116383 776 08 |iPrint version:|aConference on Editorial Problems (29th : 1993 : University of Toronto).|tEditing early and historical atlases.|dToronto, Ont. : University of Toronto Press, ©1995|w(DLC) 95208871|w(OCoLC)33991892 830 0 Conference on Editorial Problems. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=468089|zOnline eBook.
