Combining elements of social realism and satire, the play asks: who do our homes really belong to, and who gets to tell our stories? It was first performed at the Avondale Theatre, Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts, London, on 14 June 2017, and is published as part of the Nick Hern Books Multiplay Drama series featuring large-cast plays specifically written to be performed by and appeal to older teenagers and young adults. The play's action takes place in and around a tower block in central London that has been bought by private developers. Their plan is to raise rents, forcing the current tenants out. But the residents won't give up their homes that easily. Recruiting the help of a film crew already shooting on the estate, they take on big business - and come face to face with their history in the process. The Italia Conti production was directed by Chris White and Kate Colgrave Pope, with all parts played by Italia Conti students. 588 Online resource; description from resource and publisher's metadata (viewed on 30 March 2020). 590 Bloomsbury Drama Online Nick Hern Books Modern Plays - Annual Update 2020 650 0 Apartment dwellers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2004002763|zEngland|zLondon|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/names/n79005665-781|vDrama.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 650 0 Apartment houses|zEngland|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2001011405|zLondon|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79005665-781|vDrama.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 650 7 Apartment dwellers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1201505 650 7 Apartment houses.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 811132 651 7 England|zLondon.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1204271 655 7 Drama.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423879 655 7 Drama.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/ gf2014026297 655 7 Academic theses.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026039 655 7 Academic theses.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1726453 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://doi.org/ 10.5040/9781784605551.00000003?locatt=label: secondary_dramaOnline|zOnline eBook via Drama Online.
