Lüning's assignment was to collect information about the United States and its allies and report back to Abwehr, the German foreign intelligence agency. The Caribbean waters Lüning monitored were important to the Allies both for shipping and for deploying ships between the various fronts. Despite some early setbacks, Lüning provided information on naval activities to the Germans. Ultimately, however, Lüning was arrested and became the only Nazi spy executed in Latin A. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Lüning, Heinz,|d1911-1942.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n2008020558 600 17 Lüning, Heinz,|d1911-1942.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1945219 650 0 World War, 1939-1945|xSecret service|zGermany.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008113854 650 0 Espionage, German|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh85044898|zCuba.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79079435-781 650 0 Spies|zGermany|vBiography.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh2010114462 650 0 Spies|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85126634 |zCuba|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79079435-781 |vBiography.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99001237 650 7 Espionage, German.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 915403 650 7 Spies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1129772 651 7 Cuba.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1205805 651 7 Germany.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1210272 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Biographies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1919896 655 7 Biographies.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026049 776 08 |iPrint version:|aSchoonover, Thomas David, 1936- |tHitler's man in Havana.|dLexington, Ky. : University Press of Kentucky, ©2008|z9780813125015|z0813125014|w(DLC) 2008013205|w(OCoLC)209662176 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=242062|zOnline eBook.
