The comparison proceeds from the differences displayed by the two languages in connection with numeralization (combination of noun and numeral). In the framework of the apprehension dimension of the UNITYP approach, an attempt is first made to characterize the two languages as two different types, i.e. with numeral classification on the one hand as opposed to agreement in gender and number on the other. On this basis the numeratives and numerative constructions of the two languages are then described and compared from various perspectives. The numeratives are listed in relatively exhaustive catalogues and compared and contrasted in terms of word explanations and areas of use. The study is of interest for research into language typology and universals, as well as for practical language acquisition. 521 Scholarly & Professional|bVerlag Max Niemeyer. 521 2 17-17|bVerlag Max Niemeyer. 590 JSTOR|bBooks at JSTOR Open Access 650 0 German language|xGrammar, Comparative|xChinese.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009125871 650 0 Chinese language|xGrammar, Comparative|xGerman.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009119302 650 7 German language|xGrammar, Comparative|xChinese.|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/941536 650 7 Chinese language|xGrammar, Comparative|xGerman.|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/857443 655 0 Electronic book. 655 4 Electronic books. 830 0 Reihe Germanistische Linguistik Ser. 856 40 |uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctvbkk4k5|zOnline eBook.
