She also provides an outline of UK drugs strategy from its class-oriented beginnings in the nineteenth century - through later expansion and pre- occupation with explanations based around race - up until the present day, causing her to ask: Who are the real victims of drugs, drug trafficking and drug supply? The book examines the 'drug problem' in the context of UK strategies and as a global phenomenon. Set against the backdrop of race and the politics of drug control, it looks at a range of events and issues from the supply end of the drugs chain through enforcement and court proceedings to treatment approaches re addicts and other drug users. Anita Kalunta-Crumpton also goes beyond myths, stereotypes and assumptions to look at the real life issues and social characteristics that affect the trafficking, supply and use of drugs. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Drug abuse|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85039675|xGovernment policy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005269|zGreat Britain.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79023147-781 650 0 Drug traffic|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh88000332|zGreat Britain.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79023147-781 650 0 Drug control|zGreat Britain.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2009123849 650 0 Minorities|xDrug use|zGreat Britain. 650 0 Ethnic groups|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85045172|xDrug use|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005755|zGreat Britain.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79023147-781 650 7 Drug abuse|xGovernment policy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/898497 650 7 Minorities|xDrug use.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1023111 650 7 Drug abuse.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/898480 650 7 Drug traffic.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/898722 650 7 Drug control.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1032891 650 7 Ethnic groups.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/915958 651 7 Great Britain.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204623 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Electronic books.|2local 776 08 |iPrint version:|aKalunta-Crumpton, Anita, 1962-|tDrugs, victims and race.|dWinchester, UK : Waterside Press ; Portland, Or. : Distributed in North America by International Specialized Book Services (ISBS), 2006 |z1904380182|w(DLC) 2006281675|w(OCoLC)64555882 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=579102|zOnline eBook.
