Excavations show that this method is distinctive and geographically limited; this is expressed by the technology, organization, development and large- scale production. The ironmaking practice had its origins in increasing demands for iron, due to growth in urbanization, church power, kingship and mercantile networks. Rundberget's main hypothesis is that iron became the economic basis for political developments, from chiefdom to kingdom. Iron extraction activity grew from the late Viking Age, throughout the early medieval period, before suddenly collapsing around AD 1300. This trend correlates with the rise and fall of the kingdom"-- Provided by publisher. 588 0 Print version record and CIP data provided by publisher; resource not viewed. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 To 1500|2fast 648 7 To 1030|2fast 648 7 1030-1397|2fast 650 0 Iron-works|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85068240|zNorway|zHedmark fylke|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n84091698-781|xHistory|yTo 1500.|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002006121 650 0 Iron|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85068131 |zNorway|zHedmark fylke|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n84091698-781|xMetallurgy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001900|xHistory|yTo 1500.|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002006121 650 0 Excavations (Archaeology)|zNorway|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008120011|zHedmark fylke.|0https:/ /id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n84091698-781 650 0 Industrial archaeology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85065824|zNorway|zHedmark fylke.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n84091698-781 650 0 Iron age|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85068153|zNorway|zHedmark fylke|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n84091698-781|xHistory.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99005024 650 0 Iron|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85068131 |xEconomic aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005484|zNorway|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79021528-781|xHistory|yTo 1500.|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002006121 650 0 Iron|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85068131 |xPolitical aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh00005651|zNorway|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79021528-781|xHistory|yTo 1500.|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002006121 650 7 Iron-works.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/979359 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Iron.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/979089 650 7 Metallurgy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1018005 650 7 Excavations (Archaeology)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/917564 650 7 Industrial archaeology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/970800 650 7 Iron age.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/979145 650 7 TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING|xMetallurgy.|2bisacsh 650 7 Antiquities.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/810745 650 7 Iron|xMetallurgy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 979114 651 0 Hedmark fylke (Norway)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n84091698|xAntiquities.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99002344 651 0 Norway|xHistory|yTo 1030.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85092650 651 0 Norway|xHistory|y1030-1397.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85092651 651 7 Norway|zHedmark fylke.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1231394 651 7 Norway.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204556 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 08 |iPrint version:|aRundberget, Bernt.|tTales of the iron bloomery.|dLeiden ; Boston : Brill, 2017|z9789004278790 |w(DLC) 2016043906 830 0 Northern world ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2001040682|vv. 76. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1403069|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
