The wolf, as the enemy of the herds and a prestigious prey, is at the core of two technical relationships, herding and hunting, endowed with particular cosmological ideas. The study of these relationships casts a new light on the ways herders perceive and relate to domestic and wild animals. It convincingly undermines any attempt to consider humans and non-humans as entities belonging a priori to autonomous spheres of existence, which would reify the nature-society boundary into a phenomenal order of things and so justify the identity of western epistemology. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Human-animal relationships|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh85062838|zMongolia.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80061189-781 650 0 Wolves|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85147257 |zMongolia|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80061189 -781|xPsychological aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002011485 650 0 Human ecology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85062856|zMongolia.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n80061189-781 650 0 Herders|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85060362|zMongolia|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n80061189-781|xPsychology.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002011487 650 7 Human-animal relationships.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/963482 650 7 Manners and customs.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1007815 650 7 Wolves.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1176536 650 7 Psychological aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1354086 650 7 Human ecology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/962941 650 7 Herders.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/955402 650 7 Psychology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1081447 651 0 Mongolia|xSocial life and customs.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008115924 651 7 Mongolia.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1208752 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aCharlier, Bernard.|tFaces of the wolf. |dLeiden ; Boston : Brill, [2015]|z9789004271128|w(DLC) 2015000210|w(OCoLC)907948255 830 0 Inner Asia book series ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no00040248|v10. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=967873|zOnline eBook.
