Summary	DT Associate Lyn Gardner questions why there seems to be an increase in revivals of Greek tragedies in British theatre over the last 50 years. Gardner considers how the stories in ancient Greek plays can be easily adapted and made relevant to political, moral and social issues in today's society and suggests that the Greeks are perhaps more our contemporaries than Shakespeare.
