Olness. 520 The use of hypnosis in surgery and anesthesia does not seem to have any influence on operative mortality. However, hypnosis and hypnotic techniques teach patients a way to alter their body's reaction to the insult of surgery and all the poisons used to create unconsciousness. The use of hypnosis alters the psychological state of the patient which, in turn, influences the psychological reaction to the insult. This book describes in detail how to teach patients, in just a few minutes, what they can do to accomplish this. It also provides the vast amount of research that has been done to document these physiological changes that seem to be the result of the use of hypnosis. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Hypnotism in surgery.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85063760 650 0 Hypnotism in surgery|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85063760|xPsychological aspects.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002011485 650 0 Anesthesia|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85004952|xPsychological aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002011485 650 2 Hypnosis, Anesthetic|xmethods.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/ mesh/D006991Q000379 650 2 Hypnosis|xmethods.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D006990Q000379 650 2 Hypnosis, Anesthetic|xpsychology.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/ mesh/D006991Q000523 650 2 Patients|xpsychology.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D010361Q000523 650 2 Surgical Procedures, Operative|xpsychology.|0https:// id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D013514Q000523 650 7 Hypnotism in surgery.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 965954 650 7 Psychological aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1354086 650 7 Anesthesia|xPsychological aspects.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/808657 650 7 Anesthesia.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/808644 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Evans, Frederick J.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79008740 776 08 |iPrint version:|aFredericks, Lillian E.|tUse of hypnosis in surgery and anesthesiology.|dSpringfield, Ill. : Charles C Thomas, ©2001|z0398071284|w(DLC) 00060769 |w(OCoLC)44732260 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=452657|zOnline eBook.
