The first section of the book, which focuses on contemporary issues, is divided into three parts: namely, a theoretical body, records of conversations with the inhabitants of the borderlands who are engaged in social activities, and records of workshops and conversations that brought together teenage inhabitants of the borderlands. Close cooperation with the inhabitants of two borderland towns resulted in several interesting perspectives on the borderlands, which are seen as a physical space, as well as a mental, intimate, close, and sometimes frustrating space subject to micro- and macro-scale transformations. In this book, the borderlands are viewed from these two perspectives. The micro-scale, is marked out by the individual experience of the inhabitants of the borderlands, and the macro-scale by the institutional framework established for the purpose of constructing an integrated community on the border.--|cProvided by Publisher. 546 Text in English and Polish. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Borderlands|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2006001296|zPoland.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79131071-781 650 0 Borderlands|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2006001296|zGermany.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n80125931-781 650 0 Identity (Psychology)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85064151|zPoland.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79131071-781 650 0 Identity (Psychology)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85064151|zGermany.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80125931-781 650 0 Collective memory|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh2006002444|zPoland.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79131071-781 650 0 Collective memory|zGermany.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2009120624 650 7 Borderlands.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1723579 650 7 Identity (Psychology)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 966892 650 7 Collective memory.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1739814 650 7 Regional & national history.|2bicssc 650 7 Social & cultural anthropology, ethnography.|2bicssc 650 7 Cultural studies.|2bicssc 650 7 Social conditions.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1919811 650 7 SOCIAL SCIENCE|xGeneral.|2bisacsh 651 0 Poland|xSocial conditions.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh85104120 651 0 Germany|xSocial conditions.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85054654 651 7 Poland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1206891 651 7 Germany.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1210272 651 7 Deutschland.|2gnd 651 7 Polen.|2gnd 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aBinicewicz, Aleksandra.|tContemporary identity and memory in the borderlands of Poland and Germany.|dNewcastle upon Tyne, UK : Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017|z1527500152|w(OCoLC)1002199753 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1906043|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
