Her analysis is based on a detailed examination of the history and experiences of the Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Jews, Zoroastrians, Bahais and Iranian Christians, and describes how these communities have responded to state policies regarding minorities. Many of her findings are derived from personal interviews with members of these communities as well as careful analysis of primary documents. While the book is essentially an empirical study, it also highlights more general questions associated with exclusion and marginalization and the role of the state in defining these boundaries."--Jacket. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 1979-1997|2fast 648 7 1979 - 1997|2fast 650 0 Religious minorities|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh93005714|zIran.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79039880-781 650 0 Religion and state|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85112588|zIran.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79039880-781 650 0 Religious tolerance|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85112746|zIran.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79039880-781 650 04 Godsdienstige minderheden. 650 7 Religious minorities.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1094193 650 7 Religion and state.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1093863 650 7 Religious tolerance.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1094328 650 7 Politics and government.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1919741 650 7 Religion.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1093763 651 0 Iran|xPolitics and government|y1979-1997.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85067913 651 0 Iran|xReligion.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85067915 651 7 Iran.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204889 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aSanasarian, Eliz.|tReligious minorities in Iran.|dCambridge ; New York : Cambridge University Press, 2000|z0521770734|w(DLC) 99032293|w(OCoLC)41380587 830 0 Cambridge Middle East studies.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n94071443 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=77855|zOnline eBook.
