The Republic was founded on principles of shared power and fierce personal competition, never allowing one man to seize absolute control. But now, those foundations are crumbling, eaten away by corruption and excess. After eight years of war, soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo unwittingly become entwined in the historical events of ancient Rome. A serialized drama of love and betrayal, masters and slaves, husbands and wives, Rome chronicles a turbulent era that saw the death of a republic and the birth of an empire. 520 Season Two: In the year 44 B.C., Julius Caesar has been assassinated and civil war threatens to destroy the Republic. In the void left by Caesar's demise, egos clash and numerous players jockey for position. The brutally ambitious Mark Antony attempts to solidify his power, aligning himself with Atia, but coming to blows with her cunning son Octavian, who has been anointed in Caesar's will as his only son and heir. The conspirator Brutus ponders how to curry favor with the masses that have condemned him as a murderer, while his mother Servilia concocts a deadly plot of her own. Meanwhile, Titus Pullo attempts to pull his friend Lucius Vorenus out of the darkness that has engulfed his soul in the wake of personal tragedy. For once again, the fates of these two mismatched soldiers seem inexorably tied to the fate of Rome itself. 538 DVD 546 English, French or Spanish dialogue with optional English, French or Spanish subtitles ; closed-captioned. 600 00 Augustus,|cEmperor of Rome,|d63 B.C.-14 A.D.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79033006|vDrama.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 600 00 Cleopatra,|cQueen of Egypt,|d-30 B.C.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80067160|vDrama.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001612 600 07 Augustus,|cEmperor of Rome,|d63 B.C.-14 A.D.|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/32969 600 07 Cleopatra,|cQueen of Egypt,|d-30 B.C.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1802070 600 10 Antonius, Marcus,|d83 B.C.?-30 B.C.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n50051933|vDrama.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001612 600 10 Caesar, Julius|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79021400|vDrama.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh99001612 600 17 Antonius, Marcus,|d83 B.C.?-30 B.C.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1804903 600 17 Caesar, Julius.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/31693 650 0 Soldiers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85124554|zItaly|zRome|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79018704-781|vDrama.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001612 650 0 Emperors|zRome|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85114924|vDrama.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99001612 650 7 Soldiers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1125233 651 0 Rome|xHistory|yCivil War, 43-31 B.C.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85115124|vDrama.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 651 0 Rome|xHistory, Military|y265-30 B.C.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh95002946|vDrama.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 651 0 Rome|xHistory|yJulio-Claudians, 30 B.C.-68 A.D.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85115126|vDrama.|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001612 651 7 Italy|zRome.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204500 655 7 Drama.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423879 655 7 Television programs.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/genreForms/gf2011026673 655 7 Television programs.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1726253 655 7 Historical television programs.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/genreForms/gf2011026315 655 7 Historical television programs.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1726125 655 7 Video recordings.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2011026723 655 7 Video recordings.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1692913 655 7 Drama.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/ gf2014026297 700 1 Papazian, Robert A.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no98082934 700 1 Hirsch, James G.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2007158513 700 1 Marshal, Lyndsey.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2010024118 700 1 Woods, Simon,|d1980-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no2008034026 700 1 Menzies, Tobias,|d1974-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2007059783 700 1 Milius, John.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n87142834 700 1 MacDonald, William J.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2006103285 700 1 Heller, Bruno.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2006103295 700 1 Pugini, Marco Valerio.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2010000623 700 1 Apted, Michael.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n92111588 700 1 McKidd, Kevin.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no99066621 700 1 Stevenson, Ray,|d1964-2023.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no99006730 700 1 Hinds, Ciarán,|d1953-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no97029122 700 1 Cranham, Kenneth,|d1944-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no97049368 700 1 Purefoy, James,|d1964-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/nr2004010304 700 1 Walker, Polly.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no98067816 700 1 Duncan, Lindsay.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no95020973 710 2 HBO Entertainment (Firm)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2008036301 710 2 British Broadcasting Corporation.|bTelevision Service. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n50049886 710 2 Home Box Office (Firm)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n82062309 710 2 HBO Video (Firm)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no91013561 901 MARCIVE 20231220 935 491404 948 |d20181012|cLTI|tlti-aup183 948 |d20171012|cLTI|tlti-aup173 948 |d20161019|clti|tlti-aup163 948 |d20100311|cMH|tconsult ccedit cnedit enrich|lridv|v1 994 C0|bRID
