Summary Program #440 : Title: After the wall "One wall fell in Germany in 1989 but others remain. The union between Easterners and Westerners is still tense in a Germany where Easterners feel devalued. The horrors of Nazi Germany are so vivid a memory that much current German policy is a direct reaction to those times. German resistance to integrating its foreign born residents, now 6 million in number, is another barrier to social harmony. Author Marc Fisher describes the "wall" still erect in Germany after the communist barrier fell in 1989."
Program #653 : Title:Latin America, dawn of a new century "The biggest news in Latin America is, ironically, the least commented upon. The region has built stable democracies over the last two decades in the face of many challenges. Now the question is transforming that political success into economic growth and stability. Former Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga explains how it might work."
