Focusing on the years between the passage of a key statute in 1571 and the court case that clarified the statute in 1601, Charles Ross convincingly argues that what might seem a minor matter in the law was in fact part of a widespread cultural practice. Debt was more pervasive than sex, at least in the English Common Law. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title page (EBSCO, viewed March 9, 2017). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Sidney, Philip,|d1554-1586|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n79018045|xKnowledge and learning|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002011409|xLaw. 600 10 Shakespeare, William,|d1564-1616|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n78095332|xKnowledge and learning|0https ://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002011409|xLaw. 600 10 Spenser, Edmund,|d1552?-1599|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n78081910|xKnowledge and learning|0https ://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002011409|xLaw. 600 17 Sidney, Philip,|d1554-1586.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/1802659 600 17 Shakespeare, William,|d1564-1616.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/29048 600 17 Spenser, Edmund,|d1552?-1599.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/27779 648 7 16th century|2fast 648 7 17th century|2fast 648 7 1500-1700|2fast 650 0 English literature|yEarly modern, 1500-1700|xHistory and criticism.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2008119581 650 0 Law in literature.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85075309 650 0 Law|zGreat Britain|xHistory|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85075164|y16th century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012470 650 0 Law|zGreat Britain|xHistory|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85075164|y17th century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012473 650 0 Law and literature|xHistory|y16th century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009128985 650 0 Law and literature|xHistory|y17th century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009128986 650 0 Fraudulent conveyances|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85051627|zGreat Britain.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79023147-781 650 7 Law in literature.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 994014 650 7 Law.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/993678 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Law and literature.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 993913 650 7 Fraudulent conveyances.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/933807 650 7 Law.|2homoit|0https://homosaurus.org/v3/homoit0000702 651 7 Great Britain.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204623 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 1 |z9780754632634 (hardback)|z0754632636 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1480038|zOnline eBook.
