The islands of Chiloé, in southern Chile, are rich in folklore and possess a vibrant local music culture but recent developments, such as the introduction of salmon aquaculture, have disrupted traditional lifestyles. This study analyses the impact of modernity in the region and describes a number of creative engagements with it. |
