The symposium participants assessed New York's academic, industrial, and human resources, identified key policy issues, and engaged in a discussion of how the state might leverage regional development organizations, state initiatives, and national programs focused on manufacturing and innovation to support its economic development goals. This report highlights the accomplishments and growth of the innovation ecosystem in New York, while also identifying needs, challenges, and opportunities. "New York's Nanotechnology Model" reviews the development of the Albany nanotech cluster and its usefulness as a model for innovation-based growth, while also discussing the New York innovation ecosystem more broadly. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title page (ebrary, viewed May 3, 2014). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Nanotechnology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh91001490|xEconomic aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005484|zUnited States|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781|vCongresses. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001533 650 0 Nanotechnology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh91001490|xEnvironmental aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005383|xRisk assessment|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00006258|zUnited States |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 |vCongresses.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99001533 650 7 Nanotechnology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1032639 650 7 Risk assessment.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1098146 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2lcgft|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026068 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423772 700 1 Wessner, Charles W.,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n97110833|econtributor. 710 2 National Research Council (U.S.).|bCommittee on Competing in the 21st Century: Best Practice in State and Regional Innovation Initiatives,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2012016669|eissuing body. 710 2 National Research Council (U.S.).|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79036113|bBoard on Science, Technology, and Economic Policy, Policy and Global Affairs,|eissuing body. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tNew York's nanotechnology model.|w(DLC) 2014412659 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=867775|zOnline eBook.
