Summary |
The Thomas organ factory, based in Ster Francorchamps, Belgium, deals with all stages of organ manufacture and restoration. Dominique Thomas realizes one of his greatest works: the Great organ of Monaco. In 45 years, the enterprise has carried out nearly 40 restorations of XVIII and XIX century instruments. The great organ of Monaco, whose restoration was entrusted to Dominique Thomas, was built in the 1970's by Jean-Loup Boisseau. After dismantling the instrument, the pieces were shipped to Belgium to be restored. A new more contemporary façade was created. After twenty months of work, the organ would be inaugurated for the marriage of Prince Albert. |
