To create one of her first paintings, she tore the wooden back off a dresser to use as a canvas. She painted with available house paint and completed the painting with face makeup. Thus began the realization of a passionate need to paint. Eventually, Norris came to serve as the visual griot of Cleveland. She has used a variety of media, painting on canvas, wood, paper, cardboard, glass, plates. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Norris, Carolyn,|d1948-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2010055126|xCriticism and interpretation.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99005576 600 10 Norris, Carolyn,|d1948-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2010055126 650 0 Outsider art|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh93001184|zMississippi|zCleveland.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n82067431-781 650 0 Artists|zUnited States|vBiography.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2007100575 650 7 Outsider art.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1049257 650 7 ART|xHistory|xGeneral.|2bisacsh 650 7 Artists.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/817559 650 7 ART|xFolk & Outsider Art.|2bisacsh 651 7 Mississippi|zCleveland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1219896 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Biographies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1919896 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 655 7 Autobiographies.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026047 655 7 Autobiographies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1919894 700 1 Norris, Carolyn,|d1948-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2010055126 700 1 Black, Patti Carr.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n81121242 700 1 Rankin, Tom.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n84158021 700 1 Rushing, Kim.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2010055125 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9786613193407 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=381385|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
