It is not only a unique example of classical Greek dietetic literature, including the most elaborated account of the micro-macrocosm and phusis-techne analogies, but it also provides the most explicit discussion of the soul-body opposition preceding Plato. Moreover, Barto argues, it is a rare example of an extant medical text which systematically draws on philosophical authorities, such as Heraclitus, Empedocles and Anaxagoras, and which had a decisive influence on both physicians, such as Galen, and philosophers, most notably Plato and Aristotle. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 00 Hippocrates.|tDe diaeta.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2010025857 600 04 Hippocrates. 630 07 De diaeta (Hippocrates)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1797935 650 0 Diet|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85037853 |xHistory.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99005024 650 0 Philosophy, Ancient|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85100861|xHistory.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005024 650 2 Diet|xhistory.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D004032Q000266 650 2 Philosophy, Medical|xhistory.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh /D010686Q000266 650 2 Greek World.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D018645 650 2 History, Ancient.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D049690 650 7 Diet.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/893284 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Philosophy, Ancient.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1060860 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 655 7 Bronnen (vorm)|2gtt|0(NL-LeOCL)088142175 700 0 |iCommentary on (work):|aHippocrates.|tDe diaeta.|0https:/ /id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2010025857 776 08 |iPrint version:|aBartos, Hynek, author.|tPhilosophy and dietetics in the Hippocratic On regimen|z9789004289215 |w(DLC) 2015000778|w(OCoLC)900685687 830 0 Studies in ancient medicine ;|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n90667302|vv. 44.|x0925-1421 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=973909|zOnline eBook.
