The authors of this book have all been associated with the Arbours Crisis Centre in London, a facility where therapists and patients, or guests, live together in order to establish a space where extremes of distress can be tolerated, understood and ameliorated. This text discusses team, group and community settings for interventions, and the five stages a guest passes through when at the centre. It examines special provisions for guests who self-harm, describes the experiences of living and working in the centre, and provides specific examples of interventions at the centre. The effect of power and money is explored, with a focus on authority, staff relationships with guests, and cost effectiveness. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Psychoses|xAlternative treatment.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2009001964 650 0 Therapeutic communities|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85134719|zEngland|zLondon.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79005665-781 650 0 Crisis intervention (Mental health services)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85034121|zEngland |zLondon.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79005665- 781 650 2 Psychotic Disorders|xtherapy.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh /D011618Q000628 650 2 Crisis Intervention|xmethods.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh /D003419Q000379 650 2 Therapeutic Community.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D013808 650 7 Psychoses|xAlternative treatment.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1752118 650 7 Therapeutic communities.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1149687 650 7 Crisis intervention (Mental health services)|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/883612 651 2 England.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D004739 651 7 England|zLondon.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1204271 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Berke, Joseph H.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n50008054 776 08 |iPrint version:|tBeyond madness.|dLondon ; Philadelphia, PA : Jessica Kingsley Publishers, ©2002|z1853028894|w(DLC) 2001038437|w(OCoLC)47443857 830 0 Therapeutic communities ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n98072717|v7. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=105624|zOnline eBook.
