Through separate case studies it observes them in parallel and sheds light on the spatial implications of both groups' migrant status. The authors' uncovering of harsh and inadequate living and working conditions affecting rural migrant workers in the construction industry in Shanghai leads to the development of a concept of "Fair Building", a socially-conscious architecture that calls for accountability in ensuring that stakeholders involved in the construction process contribute to a sustainable urbanization. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Construction workers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85031450|zChina|zShanghai.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79063254-781 650 0 Migrant labor|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85085067|zChina|zShanghai.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79063254-781 650 0 Foreign workers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85003502|zChina|zShanghai.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79063254-781 650 0 Urbanization|zChina|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2008113138|zShanghai.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79063254-781 650 7 Construction workers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 876155 650 7 Migrant labor.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1020711 650 7 Foreign workers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1729099 650 7 Urbanization.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1162722 651 7 China|zShanghai.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1205418 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Reikersdorfer, Clarissa.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2016041457 776 08 |iPrint version:|aBronner, Ulrike.|tUrban nomads building Shanghai.|dBielefeld : Transcript, [2016]|z9783837633443 |w(DLC) 2016418379|w(OCoLC)951210228 830 0 Urban studies (Bielefeld, Germany)|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no2006049483 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1237891|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
