Each of the seventy-one stories receives separate and detailed appraisal. This approach helps establish the relationship of the stories to the novels and underscores Faulkner's skill as a writer of short fiction. Although Faulkner often spoke disparagingly of the short story form and claimed that he wrote stories for money, which he did, this critical study reveals that Faulkner could not resist the application of his creative imagination or his mastery of narrative structure and technique to this genre. -- From back cover. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Faulkner, William,|d1897-1962|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79003304|xCriticism and interpretation. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99005576 600 14 Faulkner, William <1897-1962>|xCritique et interprétation |xGuides, manuels, etc. 600 16 Faulkner, William,|d1897-1962|xCritique et interprétation |vGuides, manuels, etc. 600 17 Faulkner, William,|d1897-1962.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/29774 600 17 Faulkner, William.|2swd 600 17 Faulkner, William,|d1897-1962.|0(DE-588)118532081|2gnd 648 7 20th century|2fast 650 0 Short story.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85121965 650 0 Short stories, American|xHistory and criticism|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008111636|y20th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2002012476 650 7 Criticism and interpretation.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1198648 650 7 Short story.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1117446 650 7 Short stories, American.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1117064 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 776 08 |iPrint version:|aVolpe, Edmond Loris.|tReader's guide to William Faulkner.|bFirst edition|z0815630476|w(DLC) 2004005262|w(OCoLC)54778405 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=953722|zOnline eBook.
