Summary Preparing, applying and sitting for a scholarship test can be a gruelling and competitive process for a child and the child's parents, and the disappointment of not being awarded a scholarship can be demoralising. Scholarship tests aim to identify the very best potential students for an elite school from a pool of outstanding candidates. To be of any use, scholarship tests must identify very small differences in the academic performance of very high achieving students.
