Bibliography. 520 1 The second volume in a four-part language course, this textbook builds on the spoken language lessons from Book 1 and contains more advanced speaking exercises and practice dialogs, as well as activities to reinforce the material presented in Book 1. The material of Book 2 is arranged in five levels, each of which covers the same set of topics, but each succeeding level both consolidates and extends the learnerÆs proficiency in the topic. The lessons are followed by appendices on etiquette and social behavior in Burma and an outline of Burmese grammar. Okell also presents more extensive vocabulary lists, both Burmese- English and English-Burmese, which are arranged by topic and include such categories as names of clothes, foods, and talking with Buddhist monks.Like the other titles in this series, Book 2 is accompanied by audio files and can be used either under the instruction of a teacher or for self-study. The series was developed over a period of several years and was tested, modified, and expanded after use in the classroom. Language professors and their students or those learning Burmese on their own will appreciate the accessible approach and the manageable size of the lessons of the very practical textbooks in this series. 588 0 PDF (JSTOR, viewed Mar. 9, 2020). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Burmese language|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85018133|xSpoken Burmese|vProblems, exercises, etc. 650 0 Burmese language|xStudy and teaching|xEnglish speakers. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2022002163 650 0 Burmese language|vConversation and phrase books|xEnglish. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2021009943 650 0 Burmese language|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85018133|vTextbooks for foreign speakers|xEnglish. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001755 650 7 Burmese language|xSpoken Burmese.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/841869 650 7 Burmese language.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 841856 650 7 Burmese language|xStudy and teaching|xEnglish speakers. |2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/2035970 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Problems and exercises.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1423783 655 7 Conversation and phrase books.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423775 655 7 Textbooks|vfor foreign speakers.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423864 655 7 Textbooks|vfor English speakers.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423865 655 7 Problems and exercises.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/genreForms/gf2014026154 655 7 Phrase books.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026145 655 7 Phrase books.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1920778 655 7 Textbooks.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026191 655 7 Textbooks.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423863 700 0 Saw Tun,|cU,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no95031555|eauthor. 700 0 Khin Mya Swe,|cDaw,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n97010903|eauthor. 710 2 Northern Illinois University.|bCenter for Southeast Asian Studies.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79138964 776 08 |iPrint version:|aOkell, John.|tBurmese (Myanmar) : An Introduction to the Spoken Language, Book 2.|dIthaca : Cornell University Press, ©2016|z9781609092207 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2239008|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
