The main focus is explaining the way that Kings' power in Norway, and that of chieftains in Iceland, was idealised in important texts from the 12th and 13th centuries (Sverris saga, Konungs skuggsjá, Hákonar saga Hákonarsonar, Íslendingabók, Egils saga, Laxdæla saga and Þórðar saga kakala). The originality of this work consists in the fact that it is the first monograph to comparatively analyse the ideology of power in Iceland, looking specifically at representations of king(s) and chieftains during the Civil Wars period, and compare the findings to those pertaining to Norway."--|cBack cover. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 00 Karl Jónsson,|d-1213.|tSverris saga.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n92011391 600 00 Sturla Þórðarson,|d1214-1284.|tHákonar saga Hákonarsonar. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n88055468 600 00 Ari Þorgilsson,|cfróði,|d1067-1148.|tÍslendingabók. 600 00 Snorri Sturluson,|d1179?-1241.|tEgils saga.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n91009179 630 00 Konungs skuggsjá.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ nr97033478 630 00 Laxdæla saga.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n84169128 630 00 Þórðar saga kakala. 630 7 Konungs skuggsjá.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1357080 630 7 Laxdæla saga.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1358073 630 07 Egils saga (Snorri Sturluson)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1359936 630 07 Hákonar saga Hákonarsonar (Sturla Þórðarson)|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/1367363 630 07 Íslendingabók (Ari Þorgilsson, fróði)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1918508 630 07 Konungs skuggsjá.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1357080 630 07 Laxdæla saga.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1358073 630 07 Sverris saga (Karl Jónsson)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/1360965 648 7 1030-1397|2fast 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Literary studies: classical, early & medieval.|2bicssc 650 7 Medieval history.|2bicssc 650 7 HISTORY|xWorld.|2bisacsh 651 0 Norway|xHistory|y1030-1397.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85092651 651 0 Iceland|xHistory.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh85064021 651 7 Norway.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204556 651 7 Iceland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1210572 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 08 |iPrint version:|aCoroban, Costel.|tIdeology and power in Norway and Iceland, 1150-1250.|dNewcastle upon Tyne, UK : Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2018|z1527506266 |w(OCoLC)1019752020 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1848359|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
