The US Environmental Protection Agency's Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program required facilities that handle threshold amounts of specific chemicals to report yearly their releases and transfers of these toxic substances. The TRI data have become the yardstick by which regulators, investors, environmental organizations, and local community groups measure company environmental performance. This book, which was originally published in 2005, tells the story of the TRI from its origin and implementation to its revision and retrenchment. The mix of case study and quantitative analysis shows how the TRI operates and how the information provided affects decisions in both the public and private sectors. The lessons drawn about the operation of information provision programs should be of interest to multiple audiences. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 610 20 Toxics Release Inventory Program (U.S.)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2005032307 610 26 Toxics Release Inventory Program (États-Unis) 610 27 Toxics Release Inventory Program (U.S.)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1611894 650 0 Pollution|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85104530|xGovernment policy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005269|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Hazardous wastes|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85059459|xGovernment policy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005269|zUnited States.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 650 0 Environmental policy|zUnited States.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008103047 650 7 Pollution|xGovernment policy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1070112 650 7 Pollution.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1070069 650 7 Hazardous wastes|xGovernment policy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/952470 650 7 Hazardous wastes.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 952447 650 7 Environmental policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 913250 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Electronic books.|2lcgft 776 08 |iPrint version:|aHamilton, James, 1961-|tRegulation through revelation.|dCambridge ; New York : Cambridge University Press, 2005|z0521855306|z9780521855303|w(DLC) 2005010717|w(OCoLC)60312519 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=208641|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
