The tenth anniversary of the crisis that shook financial markets in the early years of this century provides a chance to reflect on institutions' efforts to regain the trust lost in that debacle. It is particularly instructive to examine the steps that financial and governmental institutions have taken in one of the hardest-hit economies, Iceland. Those who witnessed the crisis and its aftermath know the wrenching effects it had on society, underscored by scepticism toward political and economic institutions. As the crisis spread almost worldwide, so too did the public's disenchantment. Since Iceland was one of the first societies affected, it has had the most time to work on and chart its recovery. This collection addresses the broad theme of how institutions in the small, close-knit Icelandic society have gone about trying to recapture other institutions' and the public's trust. Insights from these studies expand our understanding of how institutions try to rebuild their relationships with communities in the face of political and economic change in fractured Western societies. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Trust|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85138261 |xEconomic aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005484 650 0 Trust|xSocial aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2010117168 650 0 Trust|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85138261 |xEconomic aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005484|zIceland.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80140759-781 650 0 Trust|xSocial aspects|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2010117168|zIceland.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80140759-781 650 7 Trust.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1158174 650 7 Trust|xSocial aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1158178 651 7 Iceland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1210572 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Sigurjonsson, Throstur Olaf,|eeditor. 700 1 Schwarzkopf, David L.,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n93026599|eeditor. 700 1 Bryant, Murray,|eeditor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tReturn of trust?|bFirst edition.|dUnited Kingdom : Emerald Publishing, 2018|z9781787433489 |w(OCoLC)1028843743 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1723880|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
