The process requires CFMs to predict specific vacancies three to five years before they occur, which can be difficult and produces inaccuracies that can lead to a shortfall of officers qualified to fill positions that require an AAD or to an oversupply of officers with AADs, which unnecessarily increases Air Force costs. This report examines the Air Force process for producing, allocating, and assigning officers with master's and doctorate degrees. The authors find that a relatively low percentage of officers with master's or doctorate degrees were matched to a billet that requires that degree and academic specialty in fiscal years 2000 through 2010. The authors provide a methodology for determining the required production level of officers who earn AADs, and this report serves as a user's guide for the modeling tools that illustrate the methodology. 588 0 Print version record. 590 JSTOR|bBooks at JSTOR Open Access 610 10 United States.|bAir Force|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79126811|xPersonnel management.|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/subjects/sh00006939 610 10 United States.|bAir Force|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79126811|xOfficers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh00002550|xEducation (Higher)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99005764 610 10 United States.|bAir Force|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79126811|xOfficers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh00002550|xPromotions.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005088 610 17 United States.|bAir Force.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/538280 610 20 United States Air Force Academy.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79109909 610 27 United States Air Force Academy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/537093 650 7 Personnel management.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1058797 650 7 Education, Higher.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 903005 650 7 Promotions.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1078919 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Robbert, Albert A.,|d1944-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n97056638|eauthor. 700 1 Boon, John E.,|cJr.,|d1959-|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no2015056850|eauthor. 700 1 Firoz, Perry Shameem,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2014030949|eauthor. 700 1 Moore, S.
