Summary Céleste de Chabrillan, courtesan, dancer, mistress, author. Born in Paris she arrived in Melbourne with the French Consul and made a life in St Kilda under the disapproving gaze of 1850s Melbourne society. This is the 'lost' third volume of her memoirs, dealing with the period from 1859 to the end of her life, found in 2010 and translated and annotated here for the very first time.
