A documentary on the concept and execution of Marcia Haydée's new choreography of "Giselle" for her Stuttgart Ballet company. Marcia Haydée discusses her new interpretation of "Giselle" in an interview, going on to demonstrate it in sequences from the actual choreography. Despite the urgings of the Queen of the Wilis, Gisele refuses to avenge herself for her death, which was caused by an accident during a duel between Albrecht and Hilarion. Additional characters, including a group of clowns, enrich the scene of this new colourful "Giselle" which was first performed on May 28th, 1989. |
