Today, imported soy products are by far the most important protein source however several alternative ways of producing protein rich feed has been identified using regional resources. Production of legumes, pulses and grass can be expanded. Alternative protein rich sources include single cell protein (bacteria/fungi), macroalgae (seaweed), mussels and insects. Local protein production has a number of benefits in the form of generation of local jobs, reduction in the import of nutrients and in general boosting the bioeconomy. Many of the alternative ways of producing protein rich feed are still under development, this report therefor also includes recommendations concerning how to proceed. 588 0 Vendor-supplied metadata. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 610 20 European Union.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2007008498 610 27 European Union.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/916630 651 0 Denmark.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79021597 651 0 Faroe Islands.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79035921 651 0 Finland.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79065711 651 0 Greenland.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79059221 651 0 Iceland.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80140759 651 0 Norway.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79021528 651 0 Sweden.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79021184 651 7 Denmark.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204558 651 7 Faroe Islands.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204843 651 7 Faroe Islands Region.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1343836 651 7 Finland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1205503 651 7 Greenland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1205290 651 7 Iceland.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1210572 651 7 Norway.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204556 651 7 Sweden.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204537 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Lindberg, Gunnar. 700 1 Teräs, Jukka.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2021102184 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1437852|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
