Synthesis. 520 "By applying a fieldwork-based, geoarchaeological approach, Tourloukis examines in this study the evidence from Greece within the framework of the earliest occupation of Europe. Choosing the scanty Greek record as a case-study, Tourloukis elaborates on a hitherto largely overlooked subject in the Eurasian Early-Middle Pleistocene archaeology: the role of geomorphic processes in biasing archaeological distribution patterns of early human presence. This study identifies the current status of the record, explains this status from a geoarchaeological and geomorphological perspective, and prospects its future enrichment. Finally a conceptual model emerges that can assist in interpreting and/or predicting early Palaeolithic site locations in tectonically active settings, such as those of the Mediterranean Basin"-- Publisher's site. 546 English with a summary in Dutch. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Paleolithic period|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85097106|zGreece.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n80046090-781 650 0 Excavations (Archaeology)|zGreece.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85046135 650 7 Paleolithic period.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1051501 650 7 Excavations (Archaeology)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/917564 650 7 Antiquities.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/810745 651 0 Greece|xAntiquities.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85057037 651 7 Greece.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1208380 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aTourloukis, Vangelis.|tEarly and Middle Pleistocene Archaeological Record of Greece : current status and future prospects.|dAmsterdam : Leiden University Press, ©2010|z9789087281069 830 0 Archaeological studies Leiden University ;|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2002108799|v23. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=384601|zOnline eBook.
