The models are used to predict archaeological site location in order to guide future developments in the modern landscape. Many scholars however consider the application of predictive models for this purpose highly controversial. Between 2002 and 2006 a team of Dutch researchers conducted strategic research into predictive modelling on behalf of Dutch cultural resource management. One of the goals was to develop best practices for the production and application of these models. This book is the second and final edited volume of publications of this Predictive Modelling project. It brings together technical papers on developing new methods for predictive modelling and applied, interdisciplinary "action research" focusing on how the models are, or should be, used by stakeholders in cultural heritage management in the Netherlands. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Archaeological site location|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2004001262|zNetherlands|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78085423-781|xMethodology. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001902 650 0 Archaeology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85006507|zNetherlands|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n78085423-781|xMethodology.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001902 650 0 Archaeology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85006507|zNetherlands|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n78085423-781|xForecasting.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh00005779 650 7 Archaeological site location.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1201796 650 7 Methodology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1018722 650 7 Archaeology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/812938 650 7 Forecasting.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/931721 651 7 Netherlands.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204034 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Kamermans, Hans.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no98106217 700 1 Leusen, Martijn van.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no2010148852 700 1 Verhagen, Philip,|d1966-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/nb2007023256 776 08 |iPrint version:|tArchaeological prediction and risk management.|dLeiden : Leiden University Press, ©2009 |z9789087280673|w(OCoLC)456904730 830 0 Archaeological studies Leiden University ;|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2002108799|v17. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=297853|zOnline eBook.
