In these phases, for many phenomena, the physical length scales are substantially smaller than the unit-cell dimension. Hence, these materials offer unique combinations of properties which are mutually exclusive in conventional materials, such as metallic electric conductivity combined with low thermal conductivity, good light absorption with high- temperature stability, high metallic hardness with reduced wetting by liquids, etc. This book is the second of a series of books issued yearly as a deliverable to the European Community of the School established within the European Network of Excellence CMA. Written by reputed experts in the fields of metal physics, surface physics, surface chemistry, metallurgy, and process engineering, this book brings together expertise found inside as well as outside the network to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge in CMAs. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Alloys.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85003721 650 0 Intermetallic compounds.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85067306 650 7 Alloys.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/805706 650 7 Intermetallic compounds.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/976487 653 1 Materials science 653 1 Complex intermetallics 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Belin-Ferré, Esther.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no00093086 710 2 World Scientific (Firm)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2001005546 776 1 |z9814261637 776 1 |z9789814261630 830 0 Book series on complex metallic alloys ;|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2008155617|vv. 2. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=340530|zOnline eBook.
