"In Greece Reinvented Han Lamers explores the transformations of Byzantine Hellenism in Renaissance Italy. Relinquishing their traditional Roman inheritance, the Byzantine intelligentsia in Italy generally portrayed themselves as 'children of the Hellenes'.
