Long. 520 Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become an increasingly heated topic since the 1980s. But there are severe limitations with the concept of CSR and the effectiveness of CSR practices. Addressing such limitations, this volume proposes that the concept of Corporate Social Irresponsibility (CSI) offers a better theoretical platform to avoid the vagueness, ambiguity, arbitrariness and mysticism of CSR. It challenges conventional modes of thinking, unveils the CSR mask of business practices and redirects public attention to the core issues of CSR. This collective work sets up an initial theoretical framework for the subject of CSI and examines the fundamental reasons for irresponsibility in and beyond a corporate context. Rooted in theory and practice it seeks to understand how boundaries of CSR and CSI have been constructed in society, and explores some systemic and structural issues of CSI in practice. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Social responsibility of business.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh90005735 650 7 Social responsibility of business.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1122851 650 7 Corporate governance & responsibilities.|2bicssc 650 7 Business ethics.|2bicssc 650 7 Business & Economics|xBusiness Ethics.|2bisacsh 650 7 BUSINESS & ECONOMICS|xDevelopment|xSustainable Development.|2bisacsh 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Tench, Ralph.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2006018696 700 1 Sun, William,|d1962-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n2009069081 700 1 Jones, Brian,|d1963 January 22-|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/nb2013018010 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9781780529981 830 0 Critical studies on corporate responsibility, governance and sustainability ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no2011024875|vv. 4. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=526519|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
