Concentrating on Samuel Beckett's prose works, though also focusing on some of his dramatic works, the book aims to problematize the categories of 'impotence' and 'making' by showing Beckett's quasi- deconstructive treatment of them as seen through his narrators' images of being unable to make self, other creatures and words (impotence), along with his narrators' images of making self, other creatures and words (making). By demonstrating that his narrators, while being impotent, nevertheless gestate and produce new entities from their bodies in the same way as a mother does a child, the book aims to reveal how, for Beckett's narrators, creativity in its widest sense is envisaged. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79055432 600 10 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tInnommable.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2014122750 600 10 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tMalone meurt. 600 10 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tMolloy. 600 14 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989|xCriticism and interpretation. 600 14 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tInnommable|xCriticism and interpretation. 600 14 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tMalone meurt|xCriticism and interpretation. 600 14 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|tMolloy|xCriticism and interpretation. 600 17 Beckett, Samuel,|d1906-1989.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/35621 630 07 Innommable (Beckett, Samuel)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1359214 630 07 Malone meurt (Beckett, Samuel)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1378202 630 07 Molloy (Beckett, Samuel)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1356586 650 0 Impotence in literature.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh94004983 650 7 Impotence in literature.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/968245 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aShaw, Joanne, 1947-|tImpotence and making in Samuel Beckett's trilogy Molloy, Malone dies and The unnamable and How it is.|dAmsterdam ; New York : Rodopi, 2010|z9789042029736|w(OCoLC)643713835 830 0 Faux titre ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n42036085|v344. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=318575|zOnline eBook.
