Philosophers working on questions of animal ethics usually draw on research into animal cognition and subscribe to strong positions regarding animal minds. Whereas philosophers interested in the question of animal minds sometimes draw ethical conclusions from the positions they argue for. In spite of such overlaps, these two areas of research have grown up separately. One reason for this separation stems from the institutional distinction between theoretical and practical philosophy. The principal aim of this anthology is to build bridges between the fields and different philosophical approaches of animal ethics and of animal minds and cognition. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title page (ebrary, viewed February 12, 2015). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Animals (Philosophy)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99001056 650 0 Cognition in animals.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85027748 650 0 Animals|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85005249|xMoral and ethical aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/subjects/sh00006099 650 0 Human-animal relationships|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh85062838|xPhilosophy.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005065 650 7 Animals (Philosophy)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 809563 650 7 Cognition in animals.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 866500 650 7 Animals|xMoral and ethical aspects.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/809518 650 7 Animals.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/809468 650 7 Human-animal relationships|xPhilosophy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/963486 650 7 SOCIAL SCIENCE|xEssays.|2bisacsh 650 7 Human-animal relationships.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/963482 650 7 SOCIAL SCIENCE|xReference.|2bisacsh 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Petrus, Klaus,|d1967-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no96010436|eeditor. 700 1 Wild, Markus,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ nr88004559|eeditor. 830 0 Human-animal studies (Series : Bielefeld, Germany)|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2014058634 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=863368|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
