Paul's convictions and his rhetoric were often shaped during those times when chains constrained him from travelling. By examining a wide variety of sources-such as ancient novels, dream interpretations and moral tractates- Wansink first describes prison conditions and the daily life of prisoners, in the Graeco-Roman world. Subsequent exegetical chapters focus on two epistles Paul wrote from prison: Philippians and Philemon. This book replaces a 'docetic' view of Paul's incarce. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 00 Paul,|cthe Apostle, Saint|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79064565|xImprisonment.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99004808 600 06 Paul,|cl'apôtre, saint|xEmprisonnement. 600 07 Paul,|cthe Apostle, Saint.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/37330 600 07 Paul|c(saint ;|d0005?-0067?)|xEmprisonnement.|2ram 600 17 Paulus (Apostel)|2swd 630 00 Bible.|pPhilippians|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79122745|xCriticism, interpretation, etc.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99004866 630 00 Bible.|pPhilemon|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n80098138|xCriticism, interpretation, etc.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99004866 630 04 Bible.|pEpistles of Paul|xCriticism, interpretation, etc. 630 06 Bible.|pPhilippiens|xCritique, interprétation, etc. 630 06 Bible.|pPhilémon|xCritique, interprétation, etc. 630 7 Bible.|pPhilippians.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1892940 630 7 Bible.|pPhilemon.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1892939 630 07 Bible.|pPhilippians.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1892940 630 07 Bible.|pPhilemon.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1892939 630 07 Bible.|pÉpîtres|pPaul|pPhilippiens|xCommentaires.|2ram 650 0 Imprisonment|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85064675|zRome|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79039816-781|xHistory.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005024 650 7 Imprisonment.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/968277 653 0 Christianity|aScriptures 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 08 |iPrint version:|aWansink, Craig S.|tChained in Christ. |dSheffield, England : Sheffield Academic Press, ©1996 |z1850756058|w(DLC) 96145394|w(OCoLC)34655289 830 0 Journal for the study of the New Testament.|pSupplement series ;|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n42031989 |v130. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=378506|zOnline eBook.
