In recent years, there have been advances in assessment, case conceptualization, treatment planning, treatment strategies for specific disorders, and considerations of new ethical and legal issues. Keeping track of advances requires monitoring diverse resources limited to specific disorders, many of which are theoretical rather than practical, or that offer clinical advice without providing the evidence base for treatment recommendations. This handbook was created to fill this gap, summarizing critical information for adult behavioral assessment. The Clinicians Handbook of Adult Behavioral Assessment provides a single source for understanding new developments in this field, cutting across strategies, techniques, and disorders. Assessment strategies are presented in context with the research behind those strategies, along with discussions of clinical utility, and how assessment and conceptualization fit in with treatment planning. The volume is organized in three sections, beginning with general issues, followed by evaluations of specific disorders and problems, and closing with special issues. To ensure cross chapter consistency in the coverage of disorders, these chapters are formatted to contain an introduction, assessment strategies, research basis, clinical utility, conceptualization and treatment planning, a case study, and summary. Special issue coverage includes computerized assessment, evaluating older adults, behavioral neuropsychology, ethical-legal issues, work-related issues, and value change in adults with acquired disabilities. Suitable for beginning and established clinicians in practice, this handbook will provide a ready reference toward effective adult behavioral assessment. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Behavioral assessment|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85012901|vHandbooks, manuals, etc.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001300 650 0 Psychological tests|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85108448|vHandbooks, manuals, etc.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001300 650 2 Mental Disorders|xdiagnosis.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D001523Q000175 650 2 Adult.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D000328 650 2 Behavior.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D001519 650 2 Personality Assessment.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ D010552 650 2 Psychological Tests.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D011581 650 2 Psychology, Clinical|xinstrumentation.|0https:// id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D011586Q000295 650 2 Psychology, Clinical|xmethods.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/ mesh/D011586Q000379 650 7 Behavioral assessment.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /829938 650 7 Psychological tests.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1081381 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Handbooks and manuals.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1423877 655 7 Handbooks and manuals.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/genreForms/gf2014026109 700 1 Hersen, Michel.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79056599 776 08 |iPrint version:|tClinician's handbook of adult behavioral assessment.|dBoston : Elsevier Academic Press, ©2006 |z0123430135|z9780123430137|w(DLC) 2005014581 |w(OCoLC)60419730 830 0 Practical resources for the mental health professional. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n98015396 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=211329|zOnline eBook.
