The critical edition presented here, based on this latter version, highlights the differences with the 1902 version, involving changes resulting from the publisher's decision to widen the dissemination of Debussy's work, especially in theatres with less advanced lighting technology compared to the Opéra-Comique. The booklet containing the handwritten notes for 'Pelléas et Mélisande', by Albert Carré, is extremely important: the staging contained within the notes, as well as having inaugurated the history of this work, has been in use in the same theatre until 1947. A study of this type that compares visual documents with the musical score, contemporary press reports and iconographic sources, aims to reconstruct the operatic performance as a whole (including the musical text and scenic elements). 546 Primarily in English, some chapters in French. 600 10 Debussy, Claude,|d1862-1918.|tPelléas et Mélisande|0https: //id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78025522|xPerformances. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00005755 600 16 Debussy, Claude,|d1862-1918.|tPelléas et Mélisande |xInterprétation. 630 07 Pelléas et Mélisande (Debussy, Claude)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1357511 650 0 Opera|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85094900 |vStage guides.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99001413 650 0 Opera|xProduction and direction.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85094906 650 6 Opéras|vIndications scéniques. 650 6 Opéras|xProduction et mise en scène. 650 7 Opera.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1046145 650 7 Opera|xProduction and direction.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1046164 650 7 Performances.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1353970 700 1 Wright, Lesley,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n00097810|etranslator. 830 0 Staging and dramaturgy: Opera and the performing arts ; |vv. 3. 901 MARCIVE 20231220 948 |d20181012|cLTI|tlti-aup183 948 |d20171012|cLTI|tlti-aup173 948 |d20170922|clti|tlti-aex 994 C0|bWCH
