Completed in 1671, this final work by the composer is based on a copyist's manuscript part books that includes the movements in the appendix: "Königs und Propheten Davids hunder und neunzehender Psalm in Eilf Stükken nebenst dem Anhange des 100. Psalms: Jauchzet dem Herrn! und eines deutschen Magnificats: Meine Seele erhöbt den Herrn" (page 261). Reconstruction of the two missing vocal parts has been completed by the editor. According to a notation in the organ part, the work was to be performed by 8 good voices with 2 small organs, divided between the 2 organ lofts in the Dresden Schlosskapelle; the present edition has only one organ part. |
