It is with reference to each of these novelists in turn that the terms 'realist', 'postmodernist', 'historical' and 'postcolonialist' fiction are introduced, while in the remaining four parts, other novelists are discussed and the meaning of the terms amplified. From the start it is emphasised that these terms and others often mean different things to different novelists, and that the complexity of their novels often obliges us to discuss their work with reference to more than one of the terms. Also discusses the works of: Maggie O'Farrell, Sarah Hall, A.L. Kennedy, Alan Warner, Ali Smith, Kazuo Ishiguro, Kate Atkinson, Salman Rushdie, Adam Foulds, Sarah Waters, James Robertson, Mohsin Hamid, Andrea Levy, and Aminatta Forna."--|cProvided by publisher. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 21st century|2fast 648 7 2000-2099|2fast 650 0 English fiction|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85043362|y21st century|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2002012478|xHistory and criticism.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001187 650 7 English fiction.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 910817 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 700 1 Acheson, James,|d1947-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n85162233|eeditor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tContemporary British novel since 2000. |dEdinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, [2017] |z9781474403726|w(OCoLC)957746219 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1585012|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
