This book seeks to identify the challenges to international trade regulation that arise from biotechnology. The contributions examine whether existing international obligations of WTO Members are appropriate to deal with the issues arising for the use of biotechnology and whether there is a need for new international legal instruments, including a potential WTO Agreement on Biotechnology. They combine various perspectives on and topics relating to genetic engineering and trade, including human rights and gender; intellectual property rights; traditional knowledge and access and benefit sharing; food security, trade and agricultural production and food safety; and medical research, cloning and international trade. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Genetically modified foods|xLaw and legislation.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2005007640 650 0 International trade.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh87004890 650 0 Biotechnology|xSafety measures.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2009117114 650 0 Intellectual property (International law)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85067168|xEconomic aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99005484 650 0 Transgenic organisms|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh93002326|xEconomic aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/subjects/sh99005484 650 7 Genetically modified foods|xLaw and legislation.|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1765615 650 7 International trade.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 977128 650 7 Biotechnology|xSafety measures.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/832777 650 7 Intellectual property (International law)|xEconomic aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/975796 650 7 Intellectual property (International law)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/975795 650 7 Transgenic organisms.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1154670 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Wüger, Daniel,|d1961-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2007089350 776 08 |iPrint version:|tGenetic engineering and the world trade system.|dCambridge ; New York : Cambridge University Press, ©2008|z9780521883603|z0521883601|w(DLC) 2007051678 |w(OCoLC)185021563 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=228157|zOnline eBook via EBSCO.
