The Workshop explored how to best support all students in postsecondary mathematics, with particular attention to students who are unsuccessful in developmental mathematics and with an eye toward issues of access to promising reforms and equitable learning environments. The two-day workshop was designed to bring together a variety of stakeholders, including experts who have developed and/or implemented new initiatives to improve the mathematics education experience for students. The overarching goal of the workshop was to take stock of the mathematics education community's progress in this domain. Participants examined the data on students who are well- served by new reform structures in developmental mathematics and discussed various cohorts of students who are not currently well served - those who even with access to reforms do not succeed and those who do not have access to a reform due to differential access constraints. Throughout the workshop, participants also explored promising approaches to bolstering student outcomes in mathematics, focusing especially on research and data that demonstrate the success of these approaches; deliberated and discussed barriers and opportunities for effectively serving all students; and outlined some key directions of inquiry intended to address the prevailing research and data needs in the field. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussion of the workshop"--Publisher's description. 588 0 Online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on December 10, 2019). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Mathematics|xStudy and teaching|zUnited States|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85082162|vCongresses. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001533 650 0 Mathematics|xRemedial teaching|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85082155|xStudy and teaching|0https ://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2001008697|zUnited States|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095330-781 |vCongresses.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh99001533 650 7 Mathematics|xStudy and teaching.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1012236 650 7 Mathematics|xRemedial teaching.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1012222 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1423772 655 7 Conference papers and proceedings.|2lcgft|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026068 700 1 Taylor, Tiffany E.,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2020077928|eauthor. 710 2 National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (U.S.).|bBoard on Science Education,|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2016190913|eissuing body. 710 2 National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (U.S.).|bBoard on Mathematical Sciences and Analytics, |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2019180879 |eissuing body. 711 2 Increasing Success in Developmental Mathematics (Workshop) |d(2019 :|cWashington, D.C.),|jissuing body. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aNational Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (U.S.).|t0Increasing student success in developmental mathematics.|dWashington, DC : National Academies Press, 2019|z0309496624 |w(OCoLC)1127939279 776 08 |iPrint version:|aNational Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.|tIncreasing Student Success in Developmental Mathematics : Proceedings of a Workshop. |dWashington, D.C. : National Academies Press, ©2020 |z9780309496629 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2341563|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
